Anything Positive?

Does anyone with Chrons have a positive story at all? Everything sounds sooo scary. I know this disease is terrible but will it ever be manageable?

I have 2 friends with crohn's disease, that with chiropractic care, have gone into remission with an occasional mild flair-up when extremely stressed. One of them used an upper cervical chiropractic technique, the other I am not sure. Another person I know has been controlling it with diet, making sure they have the proper probiotics and eating gluten-free.

I have known people that are living with it and have managed it in different ways, keep up the hope.

I have had a long, jagged struggle with Crohn's. I didn't get diagnosed until '94 at age 26 but had symptoms since childhood. I've had 3 resection surgeries and have been on every medication. My biggest challenges have been with getting nutrition in me that can get absorbed but won't block my intestines and instigate inflammation, and with having side effects from every medication I have ever been on.

I have tried every conceivable liquid meal replacement brand, tried juicing vegetables and fruits, etc. Most meal replacement products are loaded with garbage (ever read an Ensure label?!). Juicing created too much acid and made me much sicker than before.

I FINALLY found a line of products that are all-natural, easily absorbed, nutrient-rich, and tasty. They are marketed toward people who are trying to lose weight but I have been able to use them for nourishment and have not had to worry about weight loss. These products are also used for people who want to do safe, effective nutritional cleanses of the toxins in their bodies. Last year (at exactly this time) I had the bright idea that, perhaps, if I did a nutritional detox cleanse I might get rid of some of the junk in my cells and body that were contributing to my intestines flaring up and my stomach being so difficult. This was one of the best thoughts that has ever traveled through my mind!

I not only did a cleanse last year and haven't had a flare up since, but I also use the products on a daily basis as part of my daily diet. The product I use most is the shake mix (http://finallycaffeinefree.isagenix.com/us/en/isaleanshake_new.dhtml), but I have also tried a variety of their products.

If you are struggling with symptoms vs. nourishment PLEASE give this stuff a try. I hate that it took me 17 years of continual searching to find an effective way to nutritionally treat my disease. I wish you the very, very, very best. This really is an awful disease. Though, now I finally feel like I have a solution.

Peace.
