new to the group in hospital now

Posted in Group:

i was admitted monday came in with abdominal pain and knee pain when i was already on 60 mg of prednisone at home orally. the medicine team put me on 80 mg of prednisone iv and ask for a gi consult. today the gi dr came in and basically said i have no active disease and it is all in my head. in the past yr i have been hospitalize 15 times and in most admitances i have been dehydrated with electrolight imbalances this time included. im very upset with this dr because of this. he said i need to follow psychologically and join a support group. i have been seeing a psychologist and a counsler once a month for 5 yrs since i had a bowel resection. i am just wondering if any one else has similar experiences with doctors. thank you

You are in my prayers. You should see another doctor and have a second or even third opinion, they should give you a clear answer. Wishing you health and happiness. God bless you.

Ive learned the power of second opinions... the first gi dr i saw put me on 80 mg...the second gi dr i saw wasnt very happy...she said the normal person high is 40 mg...so 80 mg is wayyy to much. Best of luck! Remember you know your body better than anyone else! :)
